Plan Your Visit

We Can't Wait to Meet You

We understand you have questions when considering a church for you and your family. We are here to serve you and want you to feel welcome and at home when you join us. Here are five steps for your first visit to St. John Lutheran.

1. Choose a Service to Attend

      Saturday | 4:30 PM
      Sunday | 8:00 & 10:30 AM
      Monday | 6:30 PM

Every service includes a combination of readings from the Bible, songs and prayers, a time of confession and absolution, a sermon, an offering, and Holy Communion. Baptisms are celebrated with frequency. A typical service lasts about 75 minutes long. Our services make use of hymns, choral and instrumental music, and today’s modern worship music. Each service offers preaching, drawn from Scripture, that speaks to everyday life and is centered on Jesus, His redeeming work for us, and the life as a disciple.

2. Where to Park

Main Church & School Parking Lot:

  • Located at the corner of Smith Street & Main Street
  • Use this parking lot when you attend weekend church services, special events, or school athletic games occurring in the Gym.

Stafford St. Parking Lot:

  • Located at the corner of Stafford Street & Elizabeth Street
  • Use this parking lot during the week when you visit the Church & School Office, attend events during the school day, or to meet with one of the pastors/staff.

Street Parking is also available

3. Worship With Us

On your way into St. John Lutheran, you will receive a Bulletin that contains the outline of the worship service that you can reference throughout the service. The Bulletin also includes our weekly "News & Notes" sharing updates, life stories, and upcoming events at St. John.

Feel free to sit wherever you feel most comfortable. We welcome you to read, sing along, and participate during the worship service.

After the service has ended, we invite you to introduce yourself to people, especially to our Pastors. Don't miss the coffee, snacks, and treats available every Sunday morning (before and after services).

4. Children

Families are a gift from God and we want to partner with your family to follow Jesus where He leads. Your children are very important and are always welcome in worship. We love when the whole family worships together. Your children (of all ages) are encouraged to worship with the whole family of God at St. John - we learn together, we sing together, we pray together, and we receive the gifts of Jesus together.

If needed, the Fellowship Hall (located next to the Sanctuary) is available for walking and comforting restless little ones. Here, you can listen and watch the service while your child needs to run, calm down, and redirected. Return to the Sanctuary for the rest of the service when able.

5. Get Connected

Located in the Fellowship Hall you will find the Welcome Desk as well as the display shelves by the fireplace. This is a great place to pick up information and to inquire about connection opportunities.

We believe it is important for adults and children to gather in small groups for learning and growing in our Christian faith. Every Sunday, from 9:30-10:15 AM, we offer Christian education classes. Through children and adult appropriate topics and activities, we learn together as the family of St. John. We call this special time of growing in our faith "Learning for All".
